      Multiplying Out Brackets
      e.g. 3(x – 2), x(2x + 1), -7(2x – 3) up to 4 – 2(x + 1) if time.

      Selection of examples from Ex2.1 and Ex3.1

    4. Class seem very good at expanding brackets from Level F course. Quickly moved onto examples like 4 – 2(x + 1).

      Recap expanding double brackets, including alternative methods from Friday.

      Look at special cases:
      e.g. (x – 2)(x + 2) and (x – 3)²

      Discuss and return DST homework task.

      Squaring brackets, first written then attempt mentally.
      Ex6.1 to 6.2 first two columns of each to start.

      Starter: Multiplying fractions

      Complete some more squaring brackets from Ex6.2 Q1 then have a go at squaring with fractions Q3

    8. Thursday 16 September, period 5

      Homework due: Expanding brackets – peer mark

      Look at some more squaring with fractions then onto problem solving.
